Caroline O’Connor

Chief Legal Officer

Caroline has held many senior legal roles across different geographies and multiple sectors. She started her career as a criminal and family barrister before moving into the commercial legal world at BT where she supported various lines of business including their retail, wholesale, licencing and government divisions. Her roles also included regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

Following BT Caroline lead the global transactions legal team at Rackspace during a period of significant change including the acquisition of Rackspace by Apollo Global Management and the acquisition by Rackspace of Datapipe for which Caroline lead the significant legal transition activity. She and her team provided advice on all commercial legal matters for the sales, procurement, partnership and marketing teams.

The following years saw Caroline lead teams at innovative tech scale ups such as GoCardless (a fintech company) and Tractable (an AI company) where she was an integral part of leading on fundraising, equity and debt finance initiatives including the first investment by the SoftBank Europe arm as part of a Series E fundraise for Tractable, a leading computer vision AI company.

Most recently Caroline has been Chief Legal Officer at Six Degrees where she has lead their significant capital restructuring programme and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team has been a key contributor to the reframing of their strategy and mission & vision.

Being passionate about supporting diversity in the workforce Caroline was executive sponsor for the Woman in Tech groups at both Tractable and Six Degrees supporting and advocating for DEI initiatives to improve opportunities and inclusivity for all.

Outside of work Caroline is a trustee of an adult literacy charity, Read Easy, and enjoys mentoring junior lawyers to assist with their career and personal development.
