This summer marks the milestone of being two years into our journey of independence, and we’re transforming at speed.
We now lead the fibre infrastructure market in a new collaborative strategy, rather than traditional carrier overbuild. We combine one of Europe’s largest owned fibre footprints with the continent’s fastest-growing IP network and Tier-1 global connectivity to deliver premium connectivity solutions, operational excellence, and exceptional customer outcomes through a partnership approach.
Following our separation from Zayo US two years ago, we have transformed the business, expanding our sales organisation, strengthening our local-market focus, and maintaining industry-leading service performance with 96% of projects delivered on or ahead of schedule. Our customer-centric approach is supported by maintaining 100% best-in-class operational metrics despite increasing order volumes by 40%, and when big catastrophic events happen, like the Paris Olympics network sabotage, we can be relied upon to be the first network provider to have service back up and running.
This strategy has driven outstanding commercial success and industry-leading innovation, including becoming the first European carrier to fully enable 400G wavelengths across its network. Today, approximately 20% of our wavelength business is delivered at 400G, helping customers meet growing AI and cloud connectivity demands while benefiting from improved economics.
Zayo Europe is a critical enabler of the UK’s AI infrastructure strategy. We provide connectivity for most AI Growth Zone data centres, including QTS Northumberland, the UK’s largest AI Growth Zone, as well as facilities in North Wales, South Wales and Oxfordshire. These projects support a national initiative expected to unlock up to £100 billion in private investment and create more than 10,000 jobs. In rural parts of Europe, we’re creating the connectivity solutions for AI infrastructure providers, thanks to our French and European infrastructure ownership, network expertise, and the ability to invest and move quickly, we’re able to deliver solutions that others can’t. The result is scalable, resilient platforms that support rapid growth while providing complete flexibility for future expansion.
Our collaborative model continues to expand European connectivity without unnecessary duplication of infrastructure. Strategic partnerships, including with GasLINE in Germany and Reintel in Iberia, have extended our reach into major commercial and data centre hubs while bringing Tier-1 connectivity and 400G capabilities into underserved markets across Germany, Spain and Portugal.
We’ve expanded into Sweden, Warsaw, Bucharest, Sofia and Rome, added 30,000 route kilometres, connected 60 new data centres, launched 12 new PoPs, welcomed 150 new customers and increased our route miles by 61%.
Industry recognition has followed. Our CEO was named in Capacity’s Power 100, while our CFO was recognised in The Tech Capital CFO50 Class of 2026. Our leadership team continues to champion collaboration across the industry, hosting and participating in major forums that bring together carriers, hyperscalers, neocloud providers and enterprise customers.
Our customer impact is demonstrated through complex global deployments. Most recently, for a major international technology company, Zayo Europe designed and delivered a bespoke 100Gbps global meshed network spanning multiple continents. What began as four opportunities evolved into more than 65 projects through a consultative partnership approach, resulting in a resilient, scalable infrastructure solution that transformed the customer’s global data strategy.
