Zayo Europe appoints Davin Rice as Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer

Former AWS executive to drive Zayo Europe’s pan-European growth strategy  
 

London, 1st September 2025Zayo Europe has today announced the appointment of Davin Rice as Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer, effective immediately. 

Rice joins the leading network infrastructure provider’s C-suite at a pivotal moment for Europe’s digital economy. The demand for high-performance connectivity is intensifying to support AI, ongoing cloud migration, enterprise and technology innovation. 

He brings over a decade of experience building and scaling fibre infrastructure globally. Most recently, Rice led the Global Backbone Network Development team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). His work included driving its global fibre investment strategy, overseeing dark fibre IRUs and submarine cable projects, and achieving significant cost efficiencies in network operations.  

Rice’s expertise spans metro and long-haul networks across the globe, with particular focus in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and extensive experience working alongside operators to deliver large-scale connectivity solutions.  

As Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer, he’ll oversee Zayo Europe’s corporate development and business development teams, driving long-term partnerships, investment strategies, and market expansion initiatives.
